My son, Barry. Adopted from Bearvaria. Knit using a pattern from Jess Hutchinson's Knitted Toys Booklet using cheapy bamboo dpns and scrap yarn. He's cute.

Malabrigo Baby Blanket

In hindsight, this was probably a pretty crappy baby shower present. I mean, sure, it's Malabrigo and soft and everything, but you gotta handwash this thing with the gentle hands of a patient expert or it will felt down to a pot holder. Just the thing for a baby!

Anyway, I still love it because it's soft and awesomely made. Basketweave pattern with a crab-stitch border.

Baby Bib

Sridar Indigo yarn with cream colored Cotton Fleece. Garter Stitch. Yep. Not too much going on here. Oh, the pattern is from the Mason Dixon book.

MasonDixon Dishcloths

One made of Pachuko Organic Cotton with Sugar and Cream, the other with Blue Sky Organic Cotton. Pretty fun.

Weekend Knitting Mittens

My first mittens! My only mittens! Made using leftover Rowan Yorkshire Tweed DK and the pattern from Weekend Knitting. I had to sew down the tips because they were waaaaaaay too pointy. I love these, they are very dense. Good for driving in freezing cold weather.

Jess Hutch Creature

I forget what it's called at the moment, but I made him using scraps of Knit Picks Shine, random brown alpaca and leftover Elspeth Lavold Silky Wool. Cute, eh? Well, take a good hard look because I'll never make another one because Pain. In. The. Ass.

Manos Scarf

The idea of this scarf is great. Nice color, if you're into variegated yarns (I'm not, really). Easy pattern (garter stitch, drop stitch, repeat). Lots of length, which I like. But oh, so scratchy. Oh well, we're all about looks here at Yarn Abuse, so we'll count this as a win.

My Favorite Scarf

Berroco Plush in two color garter stitch. Easy peasy, soft as nothing and I'm going to wear the hell out of it. When this apocalyptic heat ends.

Spherey

Another Jess Hutch pattern. Made using some of my oldest stash yarn, Noro Iro. I like him. Fun pattern, and only took about a day.

Last Minute Knitted Gifts Elephant

13 hours, 2 sets of circular needles, and some stash Cascade 220. Ta-da! A white elephant.

Berkshire Basket

Mason Dixon Knitting pattern, Berkshire yarn. Great quick pattern. Clover leaf shape is achieved by sewing the seams on the wrong side. Call it knitting serendipity!

2x2 Tubular Cast On

Another oh-so-descriptive title. This was one of the first "advanced" techniques I tried, and MASTERED. It deserves a place here. Instructions for how to make your own can be found in Monste Stanley's "Knitter's Handbook."

Made from Elspeth Lavold Silky Wool. So delicate I cannot even drive with them on. (Seriously.) But they look nice!
