We have mitten theme!

It came to me in a flash. What type of theme could I use for my fair isle mittens? I don't want something presh like little flowers and children (although those are totally cute and I will do them someday), nor do I want skull and crossbones (also very cool, just not for this project). Then...bam! GOOD LUCK. Something I could use a little more of, right?

I thought such symbols as horseshoes, coins, four leaf clovers and figure eights could be used in green (maybe) and cream (definitely) on a background of three shades of blue (to represent water, another good luck symbol). The blue stripes would be on the thin side. Well, maybe. I will make the clovers the largest motif, and put either the coins or figure eights on the palm side. The kind of coins with the hole in the middle.

I'm not sure what to do about the wrist, maybe just one or two row stripes of each color. I know I want ribbing.

Ok, that's all I've got. Sometime in the next week or two I will have to sit down with some knitter's graphing paper and draw out the charts. Weeeee! I have a lot of time to do this (see below list of crap), plus I'm waiting for two books from Amazon that should provide some help.

Edit: Holy crap! It's like I think it and some crazy wish fufillment entity does it! A mitten knitting chart!! The good luck has already begun!
