It was a Bon Voyage Indeed

I'm back, y'all! Confession time: I've actually been back, as of the 11th to be exact, however due to an awesome sinus infection + asthmatic bronchitis (which I got in the middle of the trip. Because god hates me.), I've been laying low. As I tend to do when I'm dislodging chunks of my brain through my sinus cavity while my lungs collapse upon themselves. Also, lots of...stuff...going on in life, and I've been too weighted under the pile to be too motivated to blog. But France was wonderful, Paris is the shit fo sho, and I can't wait to sort through my 700-some pictures for the real choice ones to share with my peeps.

But no pictures yet, alas, as I am at work. But I won't be here for much longer! I have been promoted and moved to another division of the same company and will actually just be moving down the hall. Next month, actually. And this time they actually gave me a real raise to go with the promotion! (I don't know how this works, is it still a promotion if a job opened up and I had to apply for it? Whatever, I is moving! on! up!)

I don't have much to show for knitting (as evidenced by more of these non-pictures I am posting), though Action is still plugging along nicely, if slowly.

Final TMI into my personal life, but it relates to the blog as posting may be kind of sparse because I'll be moving in another way soon. Monkey King and I are going our separate ways to get our own space and perspective to reevaluate our relationship. We had planned to move to New York City this year, but with my promotion and our mutual (and amicable) decision to stop and think before we make another big life change, that plan's on hold again. He's still looking for a job up there, and when he moves I may go too, or I might get there by myself. I learned a long time ago not to try to predict the future (what's that saying? Man plans, god laughs.), so we'll just have to see. That's all, we'll see when we see.

It may not be what you want to hear but I think you are doing the right thing. Stopping to think before making big life changing decisions is always good.
Call/email if you need to talk! :)

Wow, brain chunks, a promotion, and separate-way thinking. That is a lot of life going on in one post. Best wishes on all of the above. I can't wait to see your Paris photos.

Yo. I relate. Big time. Congrats on the promotion, and I hope you didn't blow too many chunks of your brain away.

Congrats on the new job. I do hope you feel better soon. NYC isn't all that. Of course it depends a lot on what you want out of life. I grew up visiting family there all the time so my view of it may be biased.

Wow, that IS a lot! Congratulations, first of all, on your promotion! I'm sure everything will work out for the best. Don't you hate when people say that? But, it's true... :)

I'll totally be your weird blogstalker friend if you do move to NYC. I mean that in the nicest way possible.

Congratulations on the propmotion and sorry about the sinus thing...I know how that feels. I was in Spain a month ago and came back with a throat, nose and ear infection! Lovely! Best wishes with all the changes that seem to be happening in your life...all at once (is that not typical of what?).

Dude, what is it about France - I split right after my trip there too. They should change their slogan to "Paris is for deciding that life might be better single after all" - spose that wouldn't fit well on the billboards.

I love you sweets, and can't wait to host ya.(it sounds like you'll be my parasite. . .which prompts a Lords of Acid breakdown)

I'm no good with anything but sinuses. I like neti pots. Or you could just move to Galveston where the humidity levels will take care of your nose for you. You know in case you feel like a bigger move than NY. Plus, you find wierd crap on the beach.

I swear I think God took planet earth in his hands and shook it up and down the other day. Everyone seems to have major life shit going on. It sounds like you're in a good place though, all things considered. I'm glad you're taking your own path and not jumping into anything. I guess it's all those smarts that got you that promotion (and it IS a promotion). Good luck with everything, and when you post, we'll still be here!

well, i'm glad your trip was great. i hope you'll be plastering some photos over here so we can hate you. :)
congratulations on the promotion! i think it's great that you two are taking the re-evaluation time before making big changes. there were many times in past relationships where i wish i had done just that.

hope you feel better!

Can't wait to hear more about France, I'm going there myself very soon and hope to copy everything you did there. Hope your relationship reevaluation works out the way you want it to.

Hope you're feeling better. Can't wait to see the pics of Paris...SPECIAL CONGRATS on the promotion! That's awesome.
You're in my thoughts on the reflection time.

paris is awesome, congrats on the promotion, sorry to hear about you and the monkey king.
i think it's good that you guys are reevaluating before taking such a big step, but i also know how hard it can be. you seem to be very level-headed about the situation, and i know that can be tough as well. stay strong, stay tough, everything happens for a reason, right? what's meant to be will be. can i throw another cliche at you please? anyway, hang in there and i'm here if you need to chat. breakups suck, and sometimes it's good to let yourself fall apart a little bit.

Hey! Paris! Oh, I hope you had a good time! On the second day in the city we finally figured out the trains system. Did you see everything? I can't wait to see your pictures.

And you and MK are going your separate ways? Well, if you need anything...don't hesitate to contact me.
