Above the LOL

A little over five skeins of Blue Sky Dyed Cotton produced a...Clapotisaur.

Monkey King's mom did request more of a wrap than anything else, and this does the job pretty well, in my opinion. See? Wrapping action? (Sadly, no hair product action.)

Speaking of action, MK and I were watching Above the Law (me: "Aaaaaand blog title!") during this photoshoot. Ladies, remember when Steven Seagal wasn't bloated? That reminds me, when I was eight (so don't judge me for what I'm about to say), there was a boy named Brian who lived next door to me, and I thought he was soooo cute. Because he looked like Steven Seagal. (I repeat: eight years old, okay?) I also remember being quite pained because he never circled "yes" on any "Do You Like Kim?" notes.

I had almost a whole skein left over, so I consulted Oddball Knitting and found a pattern for hackey sacks.

Remember these?! They were a huge chunk of my youth, you know, hanging out, smoking wee, er, smoking. And playing hackey sack.

Then I went nuts.

Thank Clapotis is huge! I am sure she will love it.

There is a group of guys at my job that play hackey sack and I am pretty sure they smoke wee...were smoke during their break :O) I guess a good thing never dies.

And yes I was talking about the hackey sack with that last comment.

I love the Clapotisaur! When it comes to clapotises I think the bigger the better. Who wouldn't want a scarf/shawl/blanket all in one?

That Clapotis is huge. I doubt it would even wrap around Steven Seagal nowadays.

Whoa, that Clapotis is Imposing. Those hackey sacks made me LOL. Also, when we moved we left a can of Steven Seagal's energy drink in the fridge because we just didn't want that stuff coming with us. Hopefully the maintenance crew found it and drank it, maybe smoked some wee-- uh, played hackey sack and felt good about their day.

Hack in! Love those freewheeling hippies and their relaxing pass times. The Clapotis is truly a thing of beauty...

I think your Clapotis is the first one I've seen that I liked. Could very well be the color. I never got the hang of hackey sacks, but the rest of my pothead friends were amazingly coordinated even under the influence..what did you stuff them with? Oh and I like your hair like that.

i must go have a drink now (it's 5 o'clock, somewhere).

The Clapotisaur looks like it is a very nice wrap-like object! Very well done.

Hey! My Dad kind of looks like Steven Seagal. A bum on the streets of Washington D.C. looked at my dad and said: "Hey, man! Don't chop me!"

As soon as I saw the photograph of that hackey sack, I yelled that my boyfriend had to see it. For we, too, have shared some experiences similar to yours, which include hackey sacks and hanging out, and smoking...smoke. Where'd you find the pattern? They're so neat!

Beautiful Clapotis, by the way. I just love the color you chose, and I think you succeeded in the wrappy-ness department. Lovely!

Sorry, I found the link for where you said you found the hackey sack pattern, disregard. (Oops)

You know, everyone makes fun, but I've never really seen a bad Clapotis. Yours is no different. It's fab.

Your clapotis is absolutely gorgeous.

It makes me sad that Segal is now a big ole bloated man. I won't even google for pictures, I will preserve him in my memory as he once was.

Holy crap, that's the hugest Clapotis I've ever seen. Awesome!

I just cast on a for Wrapotis myself this weekend. This one *should* be for me. I say should because it'll be the third damned time I'm knitting one and I gave the other two away. At least it's a mindless TV knit.

Wanna do lunch in Chinatown this Saturday? We are staying downtown for the con and I am sure I'll have some time to kill if you are available. :)

Nice balls! Har har, I am also eight!

But seriously, they're kinda really cute.

Wow, that's a ginormous Clapotisaurus! That Blue Sky stuff is so soft, I'm sure it's incredibly cozy. (And btw, you should totally check out the book "Seagalogy: a study of the ass-kicking films of Steven Seagal.")
