Not Much Knitting

The weather has been beautiful here in Virginia. After a summer full of sweltering days, we've finally had a week of cool-ish, nice days. We can actually do things outside! Without dying!

Last weekend the Monkey King and I went to Eastern Market and bought some pictures to hang in our living room.

We got six in total, and the living room looks so much nicer with "real" pictures on the wall. Once we clean in here I'll have to take a picture. For my stalkers, you see.

As the title says, there has been very little knitting in Casa d'Thermal, hence the week with no posts at all (also, I am really behind on reading/commenting on blogs. I suck.). I finished the main body and have started on the sleeves. I'm using magic loop and, for some reason, it's taking foreeeeeever. This represents about 1 week of knitting.

Sad. I blame not having any good movies to knit to. You can't watch Survivor and knit. Or Top Chef. It just doesn't work. I have a wealth of experience to back up this claim.

The pictures look lovely! I know how it is, I haven't done much knitting--it's finally so nice out I feel like I should be getting some work done outside!

lies, all lies. I knit while watching Top Chef. :)

I admit, sometimes I have to rip afterwards though. Also, I was sad they sent CJ home, and surprised they sent 4 to the finals. I don't care who wins as long as Hung loses. I've decided he's a total ass.

In an odd case of ME TOO, I also bought real art this weekend. It's very nice and has that Lovecraft inspired tinge I was going for. Also I feel your pain on thermal.

Hello! Just another Fairfax Knitter/Weaver/Spinner peeking in to say hi. Are you going to Stitches East in Baltimore? I think it's the second weekend in October.

I hate to tell ya, but your stalkers are getting a pretty good shot of your front room from the reflection in the new prints. Now they know that you have a plant and a couple of bookcases. They can run wild with that info!

Knitting + Top Chef is one of my favorite activity combos. However, Knitting + Parole Board (Biography Channel) resulted in two frogged sleeves on Friday.

I know what you mean about tv knitting. Some shows just don't work for knitting...

don't you just love that "finished" look hanging pictures gives a room?

Hm, I'm okay knitting through Top Chef, but I watch it TiVo'd and I do sometimes have to rewind to catch something I missed. I haven't watched the last couple of seasons of Survivor, but I do like knitting through episodes of Survivorman on the Discovery channel -- it's my new TV addiction!

Eh, take your time on thermal. There's nice weather for a day, sweaters on size 2 needles are forever.

Don't watch "Next Best Thing" (the Madonna movie) either. It is so bad you are going to want to throw your knitting at it.

I know from experience

i try knitting through top chef all the time. it only seems to work for me if it's a simple stockinette project. otherwise, i miss everything.

Me likey the pictures!

And I like the texture of the new knit you're knitting...I'd love to make one for myself, but I have NO PATIENCE (what's that?) to knit up a project that big on such teeny yarn!

Well if you suck, then I really, really suck. I haven't updated my blog in ..... well I can't even remember. Thermal is looking great, and I can't say it enough, but I love the color.
