With the Sheep...and the Wool...

Monkey King and I went to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival on Saturday. It was super fun (for me, not so much MK), and I came away with some nice yarn. Um, I don't have any pictures of the yarn yet, so...just take my word for it that it's nice stuff and not spun from monster hair or anything.

Some highlights. Or lowlights. It all depends on how twisted you are.

"Have the lambs stopped screaming, Clarice?"

The Whitest Thing I Have Ever Seen. Interesting fact: those plaid shirts were later distilled and made into a potent jug of moonshine. Once drunk, that moonshine granted the drinker the ability to simultaneously play the harmonica, guitar, fiddle, and, uh, stick. Gift? Curse? You decide. All I know is that playing the stick really helps me break the ice at happy hour now.

I also got some knitting done. More stash bustiiiiiiiiiiiiing! Unfortunately for you the viewer, it is more hats. I know, I am becoming Hat Abuse.com but this too shall pass. No, it won't, I'm lying. Hats forever!

One Republic Hat by the talented and funny Nik's Knits made of mystery yarn from Hong Kong (the last of this crap and boy am I happy about that):

And Un Le Slouch by Knit and Tonic. More like Le Stiff due to the yarn I used (2 skeins of GGH Savanna). Oh well, I feel pretty and bohemian in it. Not that I look pretty and bohemian in it, but as long as I can successfully lie to myself, yay! Win!

Oh, who's this in the picture? Someone who couldn't wait two seconds to floss? Don't worry, when he's taking a shower tonight I'll suddenly be unable to wait five minutes to take a shit.

And for the road, remember kids, crack is wack and OMG IS THAT A SPIDER? WHO SAID COPS? ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ME? IS THAT SPIDER MADE OF CRACK?

You are as cute as the button on your hat! Love it. I'm adding this hat to my 'to-knit' list. Why oh why did I not see this pattern when it was, gosh I dunno, NOT hot and humid outside? Geesh.

ok, so this may be the "white" in me coming out in a most unseemly fashion but... he's not playing the stick, he's playing the washtub. Just to reiterate, yeah, I said washtub.

Your le slouch is tres magnifique! I keep meaning to make this and just haven't done it. No rush really, I hate wearing hats.

Take pictures of your yarn! :)

Ok. That couldn't be my ONLY comment, right? Very cute hats! You look very cute in hats, which isn't everyone's good fortune [how Chinese sounding of me...the ancestors are speaking thru me].

You went to the sheep fest? Did you have any close encounters with other knit bloggers or did you keep a low profile? That is kinda f'd up...could you imagine being at a festival somewhere and smelling your own kind on the spit? Crewl and unusual.

Lastly...at least there wasn't a guy playing saw. My first boyfriend's dad played saw. Professionally. Top that.

Those hats would go well with a nice chianti and some farva beans.

I like your take on the MD festival...lots of blog posts are starting to look the same in regards to it, but no one else has posted anything about The Whitest Thing. One guy even has bare feet!

Wow...looks like a moon with stubble is trying to eclipse your face! ;-P

Le slouch is cute...and I like the big button embellishment on the other hat.

eeek! that's disturbing!

BUT you do look GREAT in hats! I can't pull off any hat because of my super short hair. I look ridiculous!

You crack me up!!! Remember to also run hot water elsewhere in the house while he's in the shower and forget to flush! The hats are all adorable.

Am I the only person who spotted you in person?

I totally bought monster-hair yarn. I can't wait to knit it up. It's giant, itchy, man-yarn. Cheap too! You're poor boyfrind needs to learn how to knit. We all felt bad that we didn't make him run around with us. We got into all sorts of trouble!

So with all those granola people in one place, they didn't protest having the yarn producing lamb skewered over a pit? And what's with the lady with the band? Is she just a groupie or was she the dance number?

You're so photogenic! I love how they turned out, especially le slouch- it's by far my favorite hat pattern in the world.
