The Pull Up Stitch
Bastardized by Kim
Hello! Welcome to my weak tutorial on How To Make The Pinchy Stitches. I thought it would be a good idea to make a little "how to" in case just screaming the words, "PULL UP THE STITCHES! PULL UP THE STITCHES!" over and over again didn't work. I may not be the world's best teacher. Unless teaching children how to cry counts.
Step 1: Peer over the top of your work to the wrong side. Count down three rows and with your working needle hook the top of the stitch below the stitch your are about to knit (Three is the number I used for this pattern. More rows = bigger welts).

Step 2: Pick up this stitch, put it on the left/stationary needle and knit it together with the next stitch.

Repeat until your welt is complete! Um, I know these pictures suck, and I'm sorry. You may save yourself the aggravation of emailing me an indignant email and open up or buy Montse Stanley's Knitter's Handbook and then reading the instructions on page 151 for "Pull Up Stitch." Montse is MUCH better than I am at explaining these things, hence they have a book on knitting and I do not. I can totally do a podcast where I scream instructions over and over again, though.
So, that is my sad attempt to not break copyright laws.
